Do I need forehead reconstruction?
In more than 98% of cases, the answer is yes. The eyes, eyebrows and forehead are the strongest facial gender markers on the face — the upper third is responsible for roughly 85% of how a person is perceived as male or female.
A standard Type III reconstruction removes these markers. Dr. Kaushik’s Type K technique goes a step further, reshaping the bone to create a forehead that reads as naturally and attractively feminine — not simply reduced.

Type III vs. Type K Reconstruction
What makes our approach different from a regular forehead reconstruction.
Standard Type III
Removes the bony brow ridge and reduces the frontal sinus, addressing the core gender markers but often leaving residual bulges or an uneven contour.
Dr. Kaushik’s Type K
Fully eliminates brow bossing, resets the forehead to a steeper feminine angle, and smooths the bone using collected “bone dust” — resulting in a naturally rounded, feminine forehead that Type III alone cannot achieve.
How the procedure works
Hairline incision
Dr. Kaushik accesses the forehead through a fine incision along the hairline, preserving hair so it grows through the scar line.
Bone reshaping
Using burrs and Piezo-ultrasound cutters, the brow bossing above the eyes is eliminated and the frontal sinus plate is carefully cut and shaped.
Repositioning & smoothing
The modified sinus plate is reattached with mini titanium screws; collected bone dust smooths any uneven areas, setting the forehead at a steeper, feminine angle.
Orbital rim refinement
Part of the upper orbital rim is shaved to soften deep-set eyes, often paired with a feminizing rhinoplasty for the ideal forehead-to-nose angle.
